Bee Killer - Mallophora fautrix - Mallophora fautrix

Bee Killer - Mallophora fautrix - Mallophora fautrix
Altadena, Los Angeles County, California, USA
August 28, 2013
I was outside, around noon, when I turned and saw this bee killer. It is not the first time that I've seen a bee killer land on this piece of rope, but today's image is the best that I have achieved so far. I've noticed that they tend to land on upright objects, such as this rope, a ladder, or shovel handle.
