I agree with the genus identification and will add that it is a female....Looks most like the blackhorned tree cricket, Oecanthus nigricornis.

I am using "Insects of the Los Angeles Basin" as a reference; however, being new to the world of insect exploration, I overlooked the tree crickets. Thanks for the input!
