Buprestid - Phaenops lecontei

Buprestid - Phaenops lecontei
Coquihalla Summit Rec. Area, British Columbia, Canada
July 27, 2013
Size: 9 mm
Landed on my beating sheet; alpine meadow, ca. 5500'; this one is giving me trouble- I keyed this to Anthaxia but got nowhere in the species key.

ID
I tagged and moved the only two of your images that, in my opinion, serve to identify this species. Do what you wish with the others. Oddly, only the median lobe of the genitalia is protruding, and the parameres are what are needed; otherwise, that shot would be useful. Another important character we cannot see are the serrulations on the lateral-apical portions of the elytra. These characters, and the coarsely wrinkled pronotal sculpturing, which we can see, serve to separate this from its very close relative, the flatheaded fir borer.

Thanks Richard for the ID
I'll include dorsal view of the pronotum and the ventral view..will frass the rest.

Moved

melanophiline, perhaps? like Phaenops ?drummondi
looks cool; sent to Dr Westcott
