Size: about an inch
I found this hosting on a Common Milkweed plant in bright sunlight..its about an inch to an inch and a half long and its head is black....any ideas???

Introduced Pine Sawfly
Sometimes, the larvae may be found feeding on other types of plants. The Milkweed may have been tasty.

There is only one species in the genus and not much else that we could confuse it with.
