Lintneria separatus - male

Lintneria separatus - Male
Santa Cruz County, Arizona, USA
August 31, 2013
Size: Wingspan approx. 85mm
Lintneria separatus is distinguishable from L. istar by 2 characteristics. First, L. istar has an irregular light brown streak running through the forewing whereas L. separatus does not. This can be difficult to see in photos though. Second, L. separatus has two orange spots directly behind the head on the thoracic collar, which can be clearly seen in this photo.
