Could well be.
If not, perhaps a Cream-spotted Lady Beetle (Calvia quatuordecimguttata). Try saying that three times fast! See:http://bugguide.net/node/view/505779

Thanks!
Thanks, Bill. I've just looked through all the images of Cream-spotted and Spotted Lady Beetles and the patterning of the spots seems to fit Seaside the best. I'm going to move this to Coccinellidae and see if I get any more feedback.

Yes, Seaside Lady Beetle
The Cream-spotted Lady Beetle is always much rounder in shape, and generally an inland species. The Spotted Lady Beetle can be found in marshy areas and beaches, and it's extremely similar, but the pattern of the two species has subtle differences. The somewhat irregular color - pink-red around the margins, more tawny near the suture - is typical of the Seaside Lady Beetle too.

Thanks!
Thanks so much, Abigail! Delighted to discover your Eastern Lady Beetles website and will be consulting it frequently. Best of luck with this project.

Thank you :)
The book has been on a bit of a summer hiatus - there are real lady beetles to study right now! - but as the weather gets cooler and less bug-friendly, I'll be picking up the pace. Thanks for checking out the site and I appreciate the compliment :)
