Sawfly larva? - Diprion similis

Sawfly larva? - Diprion similis
Camden, Knox County, Maine, USA
September 5, 2013
Size: about 1 1/4 inch
I could not find it in Wagner's caterpillar book, and most other gaudy larva in my backyard turn out to be sawfly larva. Help, please. Suggestion for the editors: it would help if there was a toggle button on Sawflies allowing us to see only adults or larvae.
