Green leaf roller with black spots - Hahncappsia neobliteralis

Green leaf roller with black spots - Hahncappsia neobliteralis
Troutville, Botetourt County, Virginia, USA
September 12, 2013
Size: ~25 mm
The leaf is, I believe, Calystegia sepium (hedge false bindweed).

The picture was taken at 11 a.m. By 2 p.m., the leaf was fully closed up...

The HOSTS database only lists two species that use Calystegia as a hostplant, Emmelina monodactyla and Argyrotaenia franciscana and neither look like this little fellow. So that doesn't help...

You might enlarge your Host search
to Convolvulus or even Convolvulaceae. Don't know how uptodate the database is

I did search Convolvulus on HOST earlier...
...but didn't update my post.

I just expanded the search to include all of Convolvulaceae, but still no luck. There were a few species that did not show up in an image search for their larval form (on Google or BugGuide).

Pyraustinae?

Seems close, but...
I can't find any image in that section with the black lines behind the head...
