NOT Tritoma tenebrosa
There seems to be a misconception about Tritoma tenebrosa, probably based on the name. Other more common species of Tritoma have entirely brown forms. The specimen here is the northern, brown form of Tritoma angulata. Tritoma tenebrosa has legs as dark as the venter, with much more triangularly expended tibiae. Still an interesting find.

Well
a new species for me and for Bug Guide but I'll have to remove it as a record since it's not what we thought. But maybe... maybe I'd better check to see if angulata is on Chandler's list for New Hampshire.

Hmmm, I see I do have a Tritoma tenebrosa, a live one collected at a later date, different town.

OK, I've checked. T. angulata is not on the checklist at UNH. Neither is tenebrosa. That doesn't mean they are records but it leaves open the possibility.

cool. angulata is a new sp. for BG -- thanks again, Paul
