two unidentifed moths - Leucania

two unidentifed moths - Leucania
Salem, Marion County, Oregon, USA
September 11, 2013
did not realize the smaller one was there until I downloaded. Never saw it again

Moved
Moved from Moths.

Michel,with a quick glance:
The large wainscot looks like Leucania farcta - Meadow Wainscot 10441. The smaller micro is sporting that popular back pattern. Look at Monopis crocicapitella 0415 and Plutella xylostella - Diamondback Moth 2366. Could also be something like Aristotelia rubidella 1762. Really need a better profile image but these will give you something to ponder.

two moths
first of all, thank you for our time.
I kind of figured the wainscot moth but I am really sorry I missed the small moth. The diamond back pattern looked familiar and I will look up the species you suggested.
thanks again
Michel

it looks closest to Plutella xylostella - Diamondback Moth 2366 but I am not toosure

Plutella xylostella
The smaller of the two moths definitely is Plutella xylostella.
