is the yellow characteristic of frontalis? or are other species also this color? thank you

Yes
However, both genders of Myzinum frontalis have clear wings.

Female - Odd-ball
This one seems to have characters of more than one species and she has some very unique leg-coloring patterns. We will have to keep her at the genus level, for now.
I asked Dr. Kimsey about this female and this is what she said: "Bob, you've got me baffled on this one. I've never seen a NA species with wings this dark."

Note, the females of Myzinum obscurum have very dark wings, but the legs are not colored and the bodies, heads and antennae don't have very much yellow coloring on them.
