Honeybee (Apis mellifera) - worker
An old timer specimen, with badly worn wings. The only North-American bee with hairy compound eyes.
No Megachilid bee has such broadened hind tibiae (the flat, shining "tibial basket" is well visible here) and metatarsi.

Honey Bee
Thanks, Richard, for the really helpful explanation. I didn't know honey bees had hairy eyes, and I generally think (i.e. thought) of them as having striped abdomens. But what elicited the guess was the hairy tummy. I learned a lot!
