ID for a bug on buckwheat? - Zelus tetracanthus
Claremont, Los Angeles County, California, USA
September 14, 2013
This bug was very busy on flowers of California Buckwheat (Eriogonum fasciculatum var. foliolosum) at the Claremont Colleges' Bernard Field Station. It's new to me, and I'm hoping to get at least a partial identification. Any information will be greatly appreciated!

(The bug was often on the underside of the flower cluster, and some of these photos have been rotated for easier viewing.)

Update: While following up on Joseph Fortier's comment by perusing California Reduviidae, I came across this similar-looking assassin bug also on buckwheat:

I'm wondering if this one might be the same species, Zelus tetracanthus?

Thanks for the ID confirmation! This will be a new species for our field station invert list.
