Moving Leaf - Paraclemensia acerifoliella

Moving Leaf - Paraclemensia acerifoliella
Kammerer, Washington County, Pennsylvania, USA
September 17, 2013
Sitting at a picnic table under a Sycamore tree, I noticed what looked like pieces of leaves falling all over the place. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw one move. Upon further inspection, I saw the worm stick its head out, grab the tabletop and pull itself along, with the leaf in tow.

Moved from ID Request.

Was there a sugar maple nearby?
This looks like what the maple leafcutter moth does, but it would be unusual for large numbers of them to be feeding on a sycamore. I have seen these occasionally on other trees, but always in small numbers and right next to a maple.

This image was shot in a park, with many different trees, so a Maple could have been near by.
