Fly - Eristalis dimidiata

Fly - Eristalis dimidiata
Quittapahilla Educational Wetland Preserve - North Lebanon, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, USA
September 24, 2013

Moved from Syrphid Flies.

Moved from ID Request.

The flies are very similar.
I'd give the nod to E. dimidiata. Focus your attention on the "hourglass" and the colors to the left and right of it, then I believe you'll see why.

Or maybe...
E. dimidiata?

Eristalis arbustorum
Order Diptera, family Syrphidae, tribe Eristalinae.
