Crop
Can you crop both pictures down so they're more of the caterpillar and less background? That might help pinpoint details for further identification.


Euphilotes enoptes are closely associated w/ Eriogonum spp. I've never seen that species so I won't even say it might be that, this is more a random observation.

Gray Hairstreak
The size and bristly appearance makes me pretty sure this is a gray hairstreak larva (Strymon melinus). They use a variety of host plants including buckwheats. Euphilotes will look pretty much smooth to the naked eye and acmon blue larvae will also lack the bristly look.
