Broad-nosed weevil? - Sciopithes obscurus

Broad-nosed weevil? - Sciopithes obscurus
New Westminster, Vancouver area, British Columbia, Canada
October 28, 2006
Size: approx 10mm
Found on a rhododendron about 45 minutes after dusk. It was in an awkward place and this is the only angle I was able to get on the beast.

If it's got bristles, they're very fine.

Sciopithes obscurus Horn
Charles O'Brien det.

Yes, broadnosed confirmed.
Sure a member of Entiminae, reminding the European genus Peritelus. There are similar named genera in your fauna - check out!

regards, Boris
