Gold Moth - #9781 - Basilodes pepita

Gold Moth - #9781 - Basilodes pepita
n.w. Austin, Travis County, Texas, USA
October 6, 2013
Size: FW est. 16mm
By range (BG or MPG), it would appear that Basilodes chrysopis (#9780) should be the expected species here in the eastern edge of the Texas Hill Country, but by all indications, this moth looks like the Gold Moth, B. pepita (#9781). Discovered by Mary Kay Sexton as it rested on the underside of a leaf of frostweed (Verbesina virginica) in a butterfly garden in a wooded suburban area. Am I missing something?
