Tibellus? - Tibellus chamberlini - female

Tibellus? - Tibellus chamberlini - Female
Laurelwood Park, San Mateo County, California, USA
October 5, 2013
I swept this immature elongated spider from some brown grasses. I assume this is Tibellus? I'm attempting to rear it to maturity. This one is an amazingly fast runner.

Moved
Moved from Slender Crab Spiders.

As best I can tell from the epigynum and the spination on tibia I (appears 3 and 3), this is T. chamberlini.

Specimen KS-2013-23.

T. chamberlini.
Great. It's nice to have more images to compare to.

Moved
Moved from Spiders. Yep, that looks right to me too.

Thanks Lynette -
if I'm successful in rearing it, I will post additional photos. Given that I'm still rearing some jumpers I collected in June, it may be some time...

Bet you didn't realize you'd be a daddy for this long?

Nope -
I now have stocks of two different species of Drosophila and some Collembola around as prey items - our apartment is starting to look like an insect zoo... :)
