This bee fly was nectaring on Scale-Broom (Lepidospartum squamatum) in coastal sage scrub at the Claremont Colleges' Bernard Field Station on a hot, sunny afternoon. Might it be an Aphoebantus species? It was on the same shrub as this bee fly. Any information will be greatly appreciated!
