Arachnis Picta location
So does anyone know if it's unusual to find one on the Central Coast of California? What I read of it describes it's location as 'southwestern U.S.". ??

Range Change!
I just posted a few pictures of this moth too, and I'm in Oakland. There's been quite a few sightings in the Central/Northern California Coast, although every place I looked said the range was in Southern California. The information on this beautiful moth should possibly be changed.

never mind....i see some loca
never mind....i see some located as close as Santa Cruz County...

Looks like Arachnis picta
Images here.

thanks!
Well done! Thank you! I wonder why it's not in Audubon's Guide?

Holy Cow!
That's a beautiful moth!

I know!
She/He sure is dashing, huh? Wish I'd been able to see the wings open. Sigh.
