What sort of bug? - Scutigera coleoptrata

What sort of bug? - Scutigera coleoptrata

this is a bug that was found in my daughter's dorm room. For the past 3 days she has woke up with bites and welps on her arms and legs. Not sure if these are related. The exterminator found no evidence of bed bugs (my first thought) and sprayed and put out traps. The picture looks like a centipede toting off his supper, a spider.

not a biter?
Something has eaten my daughter's upper arms and thighs up. Just wondering if this was possibly it.

They can bite and leave welts, but it's rare. They are usually beneficial to have around your house since they eat things far worse and more dangerous...

Cheers

Definitely a house centipede
Harmless to people.
The thing that's dragging behind looks like its shed skin to me.

I thought it was dragging a "
I thought it was dragging a "daddy longlegs" for dinner. don't recall scientific name for the non-spider (nor do I for many species anyway!)

it doesn't bite?

Bed bugs
Check out bed bugs, they usually bite extremities (legs and arms) and are very active at night. They can be common in dorm rooms, dirty hotels and motels and poor areas because it is extremely hard (and rather expensive) to get rid of them.
