Xylocopa virginica? Big eyes
Xylocopa virginica? Big eyes and mostly smooth abdomen are indicators that this isn't a bumblebee, if that helps.

Interesting.Although that seems like a lot of hair on the abdomen compared to other Carpenter bees I have looked at today.
