Size: 14 mm
Found sitting calmly on a tree trunk on a cool, cloudy day. Length measured in place, from head to tip of wings, 15 mm, to tip of abdomen about 14 mm. Thanks for comment on identification, Eric, and compare comments here:


This photograph was taken during a field trip as part of the 2006 Texas Butterfly Festival in Mission, Texas. This was the odonate trip led by Josh Rose and Bob Behrstock.

Patrick, Well, the antenna
Patrick,

Well, the antennae on these 3 photos (Oct. 22) do look very gray. However, the red is subtle (it is only clear on one of the first 5 photos - # 85454), so it may not be apparent on most shots (besides, it is best described as "reddish gray"!). The legs & thorax still look more like igneum in the Oct. 22 photos, so probably all are this sp. (For 100% positive ID, I would need to examine a male under a scope!) Thanks for the new info & photos.
