Scopula sideraria

Scopula sideraria
Old Mill site in Westwood, elevation 5100', Lassen County, California, USA
June 3, 2004
Size: Forewing length 12mm
New species for BG!
My thanks to Paul Herbert for providing the ID via the BOLD ID Engine; DNA sequence for this specimen is a solid match with species Scopula sideraria.

See here for Scopula sideraria species page at BOLD Systems:
And here for BOLD's S. sideraria Public Data Portal - BIN Page.
And here for this specimen's Record Page at BOLD Systems.

See also species page for Scopula sideraria at MPG, Hodges #7171.

This moth was caught in the daytime in the fields of the old mill site; and apparently is a day flying moth.
(Just this one image for this specimen!)

This specimen stored at the Biodiversity Institute of Ontario.

Moved from Scopula.

Very nice!
Thank you Jim!
