Explanation of Names
Specific epithet from Latin meaning "white-fringed" for the "hind wings dark grey with white fringes." The forewing fringe (cilia) is described as "straw-yellow." (1)

Wingspan 12-15 mm. (2)
Range
Records from Ontario; Ohio to southern Quebec and Maine, south to Maryland and West Virginia. (3)
Type locality: Orono, Maine. (1)
Food
willowleaf meadowsweet (Spiraea salicifolia). (4), (2)
