Bee? Wasp? - Lasioglossum

Bee? Wasp? - Lasioglossum
Gatesville, Coryell County, Texas, USA
September 6, 2013
Size: ~4mm
Sorry. Only by the head alone, can you tell me if this is a small bee or wasp...or something else? I need to have a caption by this picture and I don't have a clue. The flower is a Rock Rose and is ~30mm across.

Moved from Lasioglossum.

Moved from ID Request.

Halictidae?
Judging by the size and color, that would be my guess.

Bee
I won't attempt to take it any further, though. Others may be able to tell you more.
