Definitely correct, Jim
Not only is this an excellent visual match for the thumbnail you referenced of M. cruentum (=M. cruenta), but—even though it looks different from many other M. cruenta posts (with its abundant red...head, thorax, and most the elytra)—it has the distinguising hind tarsomere lengths character for the species, which is apparent in your 2nd image.

I don't know what current opinions are on subspecies here, but M. c. cruentum seems iffy. Going through Rivnay(1) seems to lead to M. c. rufum, while in Linsley & MacSwain(2) I get M. c. flumineum. But the species is clear.

Moved from Wedge-shaped Beetles.
