Specific epithet in honor of Don MacNeill (1925-2006) who collected some of the first specimens.

♀ 10.6-11.7 mm
Range
Southern Sierra Nevada Mountains above 12,000'. (2)
Holotype male: near Mono Pass 12,000', Inyo County, California (C.D. MacNeill, August 11, 1958).
Habitat
Confined to the arctic-alpine zone above the tree line. (2)
Food
Adults observed in association with Pacific hulsea (Hulsea algida). (2)
Remarks
Has only been collected in odd-numbered years. (2)
