Red-headed Pine Sawfly? - Hemichroa crocea - female

Red-headed Pine Sawfly? - Hemichroa crocea - Female
Fredericton, York County, New Brunswick, Canada
August 6, 2008
I found this 2008 image in my files recently, labelled as Red-headed Pine Sawfly. Confirmation needed.

Moved
Moved from Nematinae.

Tenthredinidae, Nematinae
Hemichroa crocea (Geoffroy), the "striped alder sawfly."
The redheaded pine sawfly is another species (Neodiprion lecontei), and is so named from the red head of the larva, not the adult.

Moved tentatively; not a diprionid
Moved from Conifer Sawflies.
