Euborellia annulata - male

Euborellia annulata - Male
Rotonda West, Charlotte County, Florida, USA
September 8, 2013
Size: 9.5 mm
From pitfall trap.

One of the Florida species. I think this may be introduced.

there is no species, or synonym, with that epithet listed in(1), other than Paralabella annulata (Fabricius) --which is in a diff. family

hmmm
name was used in (1); wonder what happened?

update
"Although the type locality of E. annulata is the West Indies, many authors consider this species a senior synonym of Euborellia stali (Dohrn, 1864), the type locality of which is Java, which makes it a circumtropical cosmopolitan."

So looks like E. annulata (Fabricius) = E. stali (Dohrn), but maybe not universally accepted.

awesome.
