Vineyard Beetle - Eleodes tricostata

Size: L 20mm * W 10mm
These beetles have been hanging around the base of our grapevines on our vineyard. I will typically find them hidden under the bark around the base of vine, but I have also seen them under the ground in gopher holes near the roots of the vines. My main concern is that they might start laying larva that are borers or might start eating buds in the spring. These are by far the most prevalent of the beetles found in our vineyard.
