Biology of the Vespine Wasps
By Makoto Matsuura and Seiki Yamane
Springer-Verlag, 1990
Cite: 859626 with citation markup [cite:859626]
This is an english translation of the 1984 Japanese work by the same authors titled: Comparative ethology of the Vespine wasps. This book is mainly a review on the biology and behavior of the Japanese Vespinae species, but this work also contains a chapter discussing a comparison between the Eurasian and North American species as well as provides a distributional checklist of the species of Vespinae worldwide. It is a well written and worthwhile read for anyone interested in Hornets and Yellowjackets in east Asia.
