Vespidae - Polistes aurifer

All couplet features can`t be seen in a picture but following the Polistes key with visible features, I thought this was Polistes fuscatus because:-
1) Flagellum not almost entirely orange.
2) Metasomal segment 1 wide.
3) Eyes bare
4) 7 metasomal segments ( male )
5) Anterior and ventral surfaces of flagellum not concolorous.
6) Flagellomeres 8-10 dark brown.
7) Flagellomeres 1-5 anterior surface orange-red contrasting with dark brown apical flagellomeres.

Although some southern Polistes were not in the key, the flagellum was obviously different and they may not be found in Nebraska.

Moved for expert attention.
