Aureolaria bug - Kleidocerys resedae

Aureolaria bug - Kleidocerys resedae
Bunker Hill Forest Preserve, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA
October 28, 2006
Size: ~4 mm
The volunteers collected seed pods of Aureolaria grandiflora pulchra into Ziplok bags. When we got them home we found dozens of these plant bugs in the bags. The nymphs ranged in size from 1-2mm. The adults with their transparent wings and wing covers averaged about 4mm. We're hoping that since we know the plant, someone will be able to identify these beauties. We don't actually know if they were in the seed pods or in the plant stems. We're assuming the former.
These images are linked because they're all the same population.
