Texanus? - Polistes

Size: 3/4"
There were several of these encountered along a trail early in the morning. They appeared to be sleeping under the leaves of plants. They seemed solitary. Never saw indication of a nest but saw several resting under leaves. Later in the day they were feeding on sunflowers.
