I collected this beetle sweeping foilage with a net during Bugguide Gathering 2013. I key it to Cryptorhopalum obesulum in Beal 1985(1) based on its ovate form, single oblique stria extending beneath trochanter, uniform pronotal setae color, front tibia wider in middle than apex, elongated club, and habitus 1:1.5 width:length ratio. Expert confirmation is appreciated.

This image is a CombineZP processed stack of 153 images with a 11.3 µm step taken with a Nikon CFI60 10×/0.25 ∞/0 mm microscope objective + Nikon 105mm F/2.5 AI portrait lens + Nikon D300 camera (magnification 5.25×; technique described here).
