Hive - Apis mellifera Seminole, Pinellas County, Florida, USA November 7, 2006 Size: 8" Hole in tree
This dead tree has had Pileated Woodpeckers living in it, Black hooded Parrots also stayed for a while. Now these things are in there. I guess that's the end of bird pictures at this hole. The hole is roughly 8" in diameter and about 15-18' off the ground. Can anyone tell me what kind of bee or wasp this is? I'll try to get a closer picture of an individual soon.
Thanks in advance.
