Adult female - Xysticus britcheri - female

Adult female - Xysticus britcheri - Female
Whitecourt, Alberta, Canada
June 3, 2013
Size: BL = 6 mm
Probably a different species from what I've been finding, but I'm having trouble keying it out. I hope to clear the epigyne to get a look at the spermathecae.

Collected with a sweep net from tall (~2') grass on a warm, sunny afternoon.

The habitus image certainly reminds me of your X. britcheri male specimens.

..
Yeah, those females can be tough, IMO. But an interesting dorsal pattern, which I don't recall seeing before.

The ventral epigyne looks very much like X. britcheri. I've found adult males in the same area as this specimen, but never a female before. Maybe that's why this female looks like something new to me. I don't really know what a female britcheri is supposed to look like.

I'll post a picture of the dorsal epigyne if I can get a decent one.
