There are seven species of the genus in America north of Mexico.

Heppner (2003) reported the range to include eastern North America; New Brunswick to Florida
(3), Illinois to Alabama.

Heppner (2003) listed the host as unknown.

Very similar to
Parapoynx badiusalis. As of 1 March 2022, there were 1,533 images of
badiusalis and 14 of
curviferalis on iNaturalist.
