Are there any other Cotinis spp. in AZ?

 
Yes
Cotinis impia but it is solid black or orange; this is the only one in AZ with this color. Casey described several spp. but they are all synonyms. The other North American species with this color is C. nitida but that doesn't get west of TX.

Ah, thanks. I expected some more cetoniids, but I guess we where a bit late for that.

but you actually may have been early for the Euphoria seen on late summer/fall blooms :)

 
Seems like I'll have to shape
Seems like I'll have to shape up on my American insect (and plant) life histories -- especially for AZ :) Man what an awesome place to collect!
