i wasn't questioning your guess, John

immature stages are poorly understood [no surprise there], but the barklice make things a bit easier by being good parents and spending much time with their brood, which much facilitates the task of associating kids with adults.
what complicates things is the diversity of the fauna: Tom Murray has photographed over a dozen barklice spp. during a day, all basically in the same small patch; i often see 5-6 spp. showing up simultaneously at lights... so it's hard to assume a connection unless you see them in numbers together with the parents
