Ancylis ? - Ancylis definitivana

Ancylis ? - Ancylis definitivana
Allison Park, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, USA

Looks similar to some Ancylis species but I don't see one that's close enough to be happy with.

Ancylis definitivana
Two species, A. definitivana and A. brauni, have the black triangular suffusion from the costa at ~3/4 the length of the forewing as seen in your moth. Of the two, yours looks most (in fact, very much) like the right-hand photo of live A. definitivana by Nolie Schneider, on the previously-linked MPG page. I don't know if these two spp. really can be differentiated on sight ID, but based on the images that we have, A. definitivana probably is the best bet.

Thanks Terry
