Explanation of Names

Named after the collector of the type series, Mr. E. McC. Callan. (1)

Size

Female: 1.25 mm to 5 mm; Male: 1.4 to 4.4 mm (1)

Range

In the Nearctic, recorded from Arizona, California, and Texas. (1)

Also ranges south through Central America and South America. Additional records from Africa and Yemen. (1)

Food

In our area, it has been reared from Dactylocerca ashworthi Ross (Embiidina: Anisembiidae). (1)

Across its range, it has been reared from many genera in various families. (1)
