One of many Robber Flies buzzing around these days ! I didn't know they ate honey bees ... but have seen quite a few being carried off by these voracious insects. Many thanks for telling me which kind this one is...Denise K.

It is a male
and it is in the large Efferia genus. But for now we can't go past that. Group is reduced by the lower number of species flying in September.
