Painted Skimmer - Libellula semifasciata - male

Painted Skimmer - Libellula semifasciata - Male
Delmarva Peninsula near Clayton, New Castle County, Delaware, USA
July 11, 2005
Size: 7-10cm

Moved
Moved from Halloween Pennant.

Halloween Pennant (Celithemis eponina)
Looks like a female.

Actually
This is a male Painted Skimmer, Libellula semifasciata.

Thanks everyone
Comparing the two, I have decided on Painted Skimmer.

Thanks
I struggled with this yesterday. Could see it was a male and realised it was not a Halloween Pennant but then I was stuck. Dunkle shows it as occurring in NB but I believe that this is based on just 1 record.
