Five-Spotted Hawkmoth Larva - Manduca quinquemaculatus
Door County, Wisconsin, USA
August 16, 2002
Found with about 50 green and black larva on our tomato plants. Placed them on plants of the Nightshade Family, like Clammy Ground-Cherry and Bittersweet Nightshade. I was told by the entomologist who usually IDs my specimens that the Five-Spotted Hawkmoth hasn't been reported from Door Co. since 1933.
