These specimens are now in the Canadian National Collection, and upon examining them, José L. Fernández-Triana thought they seemed a better match for
Shawiana
Achterberg, 1983. I showed these photos to Dr. van Achterberg, and he agrees.

Dr. Marsh's assessment was that this looks like a genus of Hormiinae. Given that Hormiinae isn't yet represented on Bug Guide and given Dr. Sharkey's earlier comment to the effect that he wasn't satisfied with recognizing either Hormiinae or Exothecinae as valid subfamilies, I asked Dr. Marsh for advice on the issue.
