Probably American?
It looks a lot like Canyon Rubyspot to me...dull grayish abdomen, relatively dull thorax, and terminal appendages the same color as the abdomen (they're often noticeably paler than the abdomen on American). However, there does seem to be a tiny pterostigma on at least 3 wings. This would be a pretty strong mark against Canyon. It's hard to tell for sure that it's not something on the rock in the background, but it also looks like you can see the small "tooth" on the cerci, which would clinch the ID of American. Do you have a higher-res shot?

not really unfortunately
That was a quick trip and I had packed light, only taking a point and shoot.
I've added a couple shots, one from a different angle and one almost the same, but with the abdomen lowered so you can see the rock clearly. Leaning towards American as well again, but I've gone back and forth enough times that I almost want to get back there just to catch them.
Should note that the original id was based more on date than anything.

Moved
Moved from American Rubyspot.
Just noticed that Dr. Abbott thought it was possibly vulnerata. I had made the id mostly on season, but last year was very warm very late.
