The Flies of Western North America
By Frank R. Cole and Evert I. Schlinger
University of California Press, 1969
ISBN: 0520015169
Cite: 87035 with citation markup [cite:87035]
Although out of print, and in some respects out of date, I have consulted this tome numerous times where I had nothing else available. It has been a very valuable resource.
Since this book is out of print, the Amazon link doesn't seem to work. See here for internet availability: 1.

Publication date error
Hi Hartmut...just doing some research on Acroceridae and I noticed an error above.

The publication date appearing in the frontpages of my copy of Cole & Schlinger is 1969, not 1968. I double-checked the Library of Congress record and got 1969 too.

(I noticed this error because I kept on referring to the date as "1965" when citing this reference, but eventually realized something was fishy there!)

Thanks, Aaron -
Don't know how I got 1968, my copy also gives 1969. Well, its fixed now.

I couldn't get the link to work
the view at amazon.com link just went to a page that said the site you are looking for is not available...

New link added -
since the automatic link doesn't function.
